- Turn on each machine on the line.
- Turn on the wash water.
- Check remakes and recuts; get them ready to run first.
- Check that the setup has the correct glass pulled in with the correct labels.
- Check the water temperature in the washer.
- Check the exhaust end for empty carts and proper sorting of the glass from the prior shift.
- Perform a PM on the sealer machine, making sure the sealer is clean and the water sprayer is working.
- Check the water bucket has clean water.
- Complete the safety inspections and sign off.
- Add up how many are left to run on the current color. Determine how many you will get into the next day's color and set your goal based on 100% production.
- Near the end of the shift, ensure all the bad glass is thrown out, the garbage is dumped, and the cardboard is taken to the compactor.
- WASHER: Press the E stop button on the washer, drain the wash water, and vacuum out the tank. Change the filters and refill the tank. Sweep the area.
- SAM: E stop the spacer grid and press machines, empty the spacer corner cut container, empty the purge spacer garbage can, and the blue spacer side tape can. Sweep area.
- SEALER: Turn off the pumps on both barrels and purge the hot melt from the hoses. Clean under the sealer, purge the area, and sweep the area.
- Gather final numbers and report to the supervisor.
- Do a final walk-through of the area. Ensure the fans are off, and the machine is shut down properly with the timer set.
- Check the setup for the next shift and organize any remakes delivered at the end of the shift.
