Process:
The process for scanning windows into rack locations in delivery.
Definitions:
Procedure:
-
Before putting racks away, make sure windows on the rack are going to the same destination.
- Example: DEN, NEV, SAC, LA, IF, ETC.
- If you find a rack that has windows with different destinations, please inform your team lead or supervisor.
- Find an empty bin to put the rack away.
- Scan the location of the empty bin and then scan the windows.
-
Once finished scanning the rack, go back and scan all the windows again.
- Don’t scan the windows twice at the same time.
- Check the scanner’s screen every other scan to make sure it’s not disconnected, and the windows are being binned correctly.
-
After scanning the second time, write down the location of where the windows were put away on the frame.
- Write the location right below the barcode.
- Use only dry erase markers.
- While you are putting windows away, scan any windows you see with no location, or the wrong location, written on them.
- Racks that are condensed by loaders will need to be rescanned and put away again.
- Windows that are over 74” tall and / or over 72” long will need to be pulled off the rack and scanned on a bin that is assigned for big windows.
