Procedure:
-
Review the equalite paperwork.
- The paperwork shows the cut size to the left and the finished size to the right.
- Single Vent (SV) and Single Hung (SH) will have one double-mitered piece and two Single-mitered pieces, the other end of which will be cut off square and milled.
- A Double Vent (DV) Will have two pieces cut off square and milled on both ends.
- A (PM) is a picture window made with slider frame material, with four double-mitered equalite adapter pieces, and no milling.
-
Cut the adaptors to the cut size on the left side of the paper and slot the double-mitered piece into the cart according to the slotting information. The two pieces that will be square cut will be made into a left and a right side by turning one part around so they face opposite each other.
- Two pieces can be cut on the chop saw at the same time.
- When cutting, ensure the pieces are against the stop, hold the pieces securely with your right hand, and operate the saw with your left hand.
- Push the square cut ends into the mill and actuate the clamp lever down to clamp the parts.
-
Press the foot pedal and hold it down until the mill has traveled across the adapters. Release the pedal, release the clamps, and verify the proper finished size by the size on the right side of the paper.
- The mill will not operate if the clamps are not down.
- After the adapters are milled check the depth of the mill by putting the milled end perpendicular into the other adapter checking that there are no gaps on any surfaces. Check every 5 cuts.
- Slot the two parts in the proper cart hole, as per the paperwork.
