Low-E Dust
Overview
            The process for safely disposing of Low-E dust bags and filters.

Procedure:

Heglas
  1. On the first working day of each month, the low-e dust filter on each Hegla glass cutter needs to be changed.
  2. Before changing the filter, dawn proper PPE.
    1. PPE includes a disposable mask, disposable gloves, and glasses.
  3. Remove the old filters from the machine and place them into a plastic garbage bag.
    1. When handling the filter, avoid any movements that will displace low-e dust into the air.
  4. Tie the plastic garbage bag off and place it in an outside trash receptacle.
  5. Remove and dispose of your mask and gloves.
    1. Avoid making any contact with your face or skin.
  6. Fill out the low-e dust sign off sheet.
  7. Thoroughly wash your hands before returning to work.
 
Shop Vac for Edge Deletion Wheel
  1. On the first working day of each month, the shop vac bag on each edge deletion table needs to be changed.
  2. Before changing the bag, dawn proper PPE.
    1. PPE includes a disposable mask, disposable gloves, and glasses.
  3. Remove the old bag from the shop vac and place it into a plastic garbage bag.
    1. When handling the bag, avoid any movements that will displace low-e dust into the air.
  4. Check the filter for any signs of wear.
    1. The filter needs to be changed every 3 months or whenever wear is evident.
  5. If needed, remove the old filter from the shop vac and place it into the same plastic garbage bag.
  6. Tie the plastic garbage bag off and place it in an outside trash receptacle.
  7. Remove and dispose of your mask and gloves.
    1. Avoid making any contact with your face or skin.
  8. Thoroughly wash your hands before returning to work.
  9. Fill out the low-e dust sign off sheet.
