Hegla Glass Inspection Process
Process:
Inspecting glass schedules after being cut on a Hegla glass cutter.

Procedure:
  1. Before slotting any glass into a harp, inspect the harp for exposed screws, worn rails, or any other issues that could damage glass lites.
  2. After completing a glass schedule run at the Hegla, the operator must check all paperwork to verify that all glass types have been cut. If not, the cutter must complete the run and notify the team lead if they cannot do so.
  3. Using the glass schedule paperwork, verify that all lites are accounted for and in the correct order.
  4. Use a flashlight to visually inspect all the harps for quality issues such as:
    1. Chips or broken lites
    2. Scores
    3. Backwards Low-E
    4. Wrong size
    5. Mis-slotted glass
    6. Incorrect edge deletion
  5. Complete all recuts and verify that all carts have properly placed run labels and employee labels.
  6. Initial the paperwork indicating a completed inspection and push the glass harps to the staging area.
