Procedure.
Argon Audits
- On the 7500, Lisec 1, Lisec 2, and Argon fill stations, check the argon level of the most recently run unit every thirty minutes.
- After checking the argon level, mark the side of the IG unit with an argon check sticker and fill out the Argon Check Log.
- For any testing questions, review the Sparklike Handheld Manual.
- The unit passes if it reads 90% argon or above.
-
If the unit reads below 90%, test one unit before and the next unit after the low reading.
- Continue testing previously run units until all low units have been identified.
- If the next run unit is also low, stop and fix the problem.
-
Units with readings below 80% need to be refilled to 90% or above.
- Place a red “LOW ARGON” tag on the harp and wheel it to an argon fill station.
-
Scan the barcode on the Argon OVF label.
- Verify that the information has been uploaded to the argon overfill/underfill machine.
- For Super Spacer units: Puncture the spacer space with the puncture tool, as shown in the picture.
- For IC units: The spacer already has an opening. Using the tool, insert the valve nipple into the spacer opening, as shown.
-
For Super Spacer units: Insert the argon needle through the puncture hole in the spacer.

-
For IC units: Insert the needle holding the nipple in place with the prong tool as shown.
- The tool must be used, as shown in the picture, to hold the nipple in place and keep it from falling into the unit as the needle is being inserted.
- Press start to begin overfilling/underfilling the unit.
- For Super Spacer units: Remove the needle and immediately cover the puncture area with Teflon tape.
- For IC Units: Remove the needle by holding the nipple in place using the prong tool as shown.
- For IC Units: After removing the needle, insert the valve into the nipple.
- Break off the valve handle, leaving the valve tip in the nipple.
- Seal the spacer opening with hot melt, ensuring all air gaps are filled with hot melt.
- When the cart is completed, place the cart in the CGA staging area for quality verification and sign-off.
