Procedure
- Check the paperwork on the grid trees for your next glass schedule to run.
- Pull the grid tree over to your line.
-
Match the glass sticker to the grid sticker.
- Make sure the grid pattern, thickness, and style are all correct.
- Remove all stickers and tape from the grids.
-
Inspect grids for any noticeable scratches, gaps between grids, smears, etc.
- Using the alcohol and cans of spray paint, clean and repair and minor issues to the grids.
-
If the gird has an issue that can not be repaired, the grid will have to be remade as soon as possible.
- Call over your team lead.
-
Check what keepers are on the ends of the grid.
- Keepers for the Lisec lines need the little metal keeper tab bent outwards.
- Keepers for the 7500 and 7000 need the little metal tab unbent.
- On the Lisec lines, use the small slits in the spacer and the measuring board built into the line to correctly insert the grid unit.
- On the 7500 line, use the lines monitor, lines lasers, and the measuring board built into the line to correctly insert the grid unit.
- On the 7000 line, use a tape measure and the measuring board built into the line to correctly insert the grid unit.
-
Orient the grids so they are unbroken vertically, when looking through the low-e lite and unbroken horizontally, when looking through the clear lite.
-
If the grid is two-toned, orient the colored portion of the grid towards the low-e lite.
- Unless the customer has requested the colored portion towards the clear lite. This is rare and would be indicated on the label.
