Sorting off IG Lines

Sorting off IG Lines
Overview
The process for sorting off the backend of IC 2, IC 3, the 7500, Lisec 1, and Lisec 2

Definitions
Oddity run: a run of less than 20 units of a specific spacer/coil size of a batch.
            IG: An insulated glass unit.

Procedure
  1. Before starting a run, check to see if the run is sortable.
    1. Only oddity runs are not sortable.
  2. 15 minutes before starting a sortable run, contact CGA to see if parts of that batch have already been run elsewhere in the shop.
    1. If parts of that batch have been run elsewhere, CGA will bring all the harps from that batch over to your line.
    2. If no other area has run parts of the batch, get new harps to start sorting into.
    3. If another line is currently running parts of the batch, get new harps to start sorting into.
  3. Make sure you have enough harps to sort directly into.
    1. If you don’t have enough harps to sort directly into, do not continue your sortable run.
      1. While waiting for harps to become available, run remakes, do quality audits (RRC), organize your area, etc.
  4. If a unit breaks or is missing, follow the Glass Remake Process.
