Capillary Tubes on the 7000/Fixed Heads
Overview
How to properly install capillary tubes on the 7000 and Fixed Head lines

Definitions

Procedure
  1. Use the lines capillary tube bending jig to properly bend the capillary tube.
    1. Do not attempt to bend a tube without the jig.
    2. Capillary tubes that are bent incorrectly can be ripped out by the sealer head, protrude too far into the IG unit, or not extended far enough into the unit.
  2. Lightly crimp the now bent capillary tube with your fingers.
  3. Insert the capillary tube into the break in the spacer.
  4. Verify the break in the spacer is oriented correctly (at the top of the IG unit).
  5. Tape the exterior portion of the capillary tube to the unit to the glass.
  6. Visually check the inserted end of the capillary tube. Make sure nothing is clogging the end.
    1. If something is clogging the end, dislodge it before continuing.
    2. A clogged capillary tube cannot breathe and can cause the unit to fail when it attempts to equalize to its destination.
After the unit has been sealed with hotmelt.
  1. Remove the tape and run the capillary tube down the side of the IG unit.
    1. Be sure not to pull the capillary tube out during this process.
