Capillary Tubes on the 7500

Capillary Tubes on the 7500
Overview
How to properly install breather tubes on the 7500

Definitions

Procedure
  1. Use the lines capillary tube bending jig to properly bend the capillary tube.
    1. Do not attempt to bend a tube without the jig.
    2. Capillary tubes that are bent incorrectly can be ripped out by the sealer head, protrude too far into the IG unit, or not extended far enough into the unit.
  2. Check to make sure the capillary tube is bent correctly.
  3. Insert the capillary tube into the break in the spacer.
  4. Verify the break in the spacer is oriented correctly (at the top of the IG unit).
  5. Tape the exterior portion of the IG unit to the glass.
  6. Visually check the inserted end of the capillary tube. Make sure nothing is clogging the end and the capillary tube does not extend more than ¼” pass the spacer.
    1. If something is clogging the end, dislodge it before continuing.
    2. A clogged capillary tube cannot breathe and can cause the unit to fail when it attempts to pressurize to its destination.
After the unit has been sealed with hotmelt.
  1. Make sure the tube did not get pulled out by the sealer head.
  2. For patio units of glass, remove the tape from the tube and run it down the side of the IG unit.
