Capillary Tubes on the 7500
Overview
How to properly install breather tubes on the 7500
Definitions
Procedure
-
Use the lines capillary tube bending jig to properly bend the capillary tube.
- Do not attempt to bend a tube without the jig.
- Capillary tubes that are bent incorrectly can be ripped out by the sealer head, protrude too far into the IG unit, or not extended far enough into the unit.
- Check to make sure the capillary tube is bent correctly.
- Insert the capillary tube into the break in the spacer.
- Verify the break in the spacer is oriented correctly (at the top of the IG unit).
- Tape the exterior portion of the IG unit to the glass.
-
Visually check the inserted end of the capillary tube. Make sure nothing is clogging the end and the capillary tube does not extend more than ¼” pass the spacer.
- If something is clogging the end, dislodge it before continuing.
- A clogged capillary tube cannot breathe and can cause the unit to fail when it attempts to pressurize to its destination.
- Make sure the tube did not get pulled out by the sealer head.
- For patio units of glass, remove the tape from the tube and run it down the side of the IG unit.
