Procedure
  1. As an IG unit is coming off the line, visually inspect it checking for: offsets lites, voids, correct hotmelt coverage, acceptable sightline, scratches, flaws, and grids (if has grids).
    1. If you have any quality questions, reference AMSCO Windows Glass Inspection Criteria.
  2. On the 7500: Pair the glass sticker with the next unit on the overhead computer monitor. Ensure the size and invoice number match.
  3. Measure the IG unit.
    1. On custom measure every tenth unit.
    2. On remakes measure everyone.
  4. Pinch and scoop / pack the corners of the IG unit with a green silicone pinch pad.
    1. Perform this task in this order: top right, top left, bottom left, bottom right (once it’s on a harp).
    2. On an IC line: Pull/Pinch the mended corner.
  5. Use a hotmelt stick to clean off any excessive hotmelt on the IG unit making sure it is 100% clean of hot melt or other debris inside and out.
  6. Check the low-e orientation of the lites.
  7. Off load the IG unit into a harp or green rack.
    1. When off loading, place the clear lite to the left and low-e lite to the right.
  8. When using a ¾” harp, flip both top and bottom arms up prior to slotting in the unit.
  9. Call over your team lead if hotmelt becomes excessive or any question you may have about quality on the unit.
