Low-E Checks on IG Lines
Process:
The process for checking for correct Low-e orientation.

Procedure:
1. Each quarter, ensure the low-e tester works by touching the AMSCO LOW-E WAND TEST BAR with the tester.
2. Before a harp is pushed away from the IG exhaust, check and mark each IG unit in the harp with a low-e wand.
       a. For large units on green racks, check and mark each IG before placing it on a green rack.
       b. Ensure each unit receives a mark on the front side of the cart, as the cart is checked with the low-e wand.” If the low-e is facing out, the tester will omit a sound, and the red light on the tester will light up.
3. If the low-e is facing out, the tester will omit a sound, and the red light on the tester will light up.
4. If the tester does not light up and omit a sound, the lites on the IG unit are oriented correctly.
       a. The proper orientation for soft coat low-e is on surface 2.
5. For hard coat units: Hard coat low-e will cause the low-e tester to light up.
       a. The proper orientation for hard coat low-e is on surface 4.
