Additional Glass Stickers

Additional Glass Stickers
Process:
This is the process for adding additional glass stickers to tempered, wildfire, hard coat, glass-only, and argon overfill IG units.
Definitions:
Any needed definitions
Procedure:
  1. All wildfire units will receive a “Wildfire” sticker.
    1. One lite of a wildfire IG unit is tempered while the other is annealed.
    2. Wildfire units do not get tempered stickers.
    3. c. Wildfire units are designed to withstand extreme heat without shattering, preventing ashes from being blown into a home.
  2. All tempered units will receive a “Tempered” sticker.
    1. Both lites must be tempered to get a tempered sticker.
    2. Tempering a unit improves its strength; if broken, it turns the glass into little pebbles, reducing the risk of injury.
  3. All Hard-coat Low-e units will receive a “Hard-coat” sticker.
    1. Hard-coat is a low-e coating you can touch.
    2. Hard-coat makes the IG unit more energy efficient.
    3. c. Razor blades cannot be used to clean hard-coat. Metal from the blade will be deposited into the hard-coat, causing streaking.
  4. All glass-only units will receive their correct glass-only barcode sticker.
    1. On intercept units, the glass-only sticker must be placed on the unit after the oven. The oven will burn the barcodes.
  5. All Argon overfill units will receive their correct overfill barcode sticker.
    1. On super spacer units, the label will be placed directly under the glass sticker at the sticker station and transferred to the side of the unit by the lines catchers.
    2. On intercept units, the label will be placed directly under the glass sticker at the sticker station and transferred to the side of the unit at the screw station after the unit has cooled at the fans.
      1. If placed at or before the cooling fans, the fans could blow the sticker off the side of the unit.
  6. All IG units needing debris film will receive a debris film sticker.
