Sorting Patio and Bigs

Sorting Bigs
Process:
The process for placing big IG units onto green racks.
Definitions:
Any needed definitions
Procedure:
  1. Check the glass sticker to see what the big unit is.
    1. Studio Continuous Frame (CF VS1)
    2. Hampton or Artisan Continuous Frame (CF VZ1 or CF VX2)
    3. Special Continuous Frame (sCF)
    4. Patio Door (PD VX1 or PD VX2)
    5. Studio Picture Window (PW VS1)
    6. Hampton or Artisan Picture Window (PW VZ1 or PW VX2)
    7. Vinyl Wrap
    8. Glass Only (GLO)
    9. Debris Film
  2. These window options cannot be mixed on a green rack.
  3. Orient the IG unit correctly on the green rack.
    1. The width (the first number listed) is on the top and bottom of the unit.
    2. The height (the second number listed) is on the sides of the unit.
    3. The only exception to this rule is if a window is over 94” tall. In this case, place the unit horizontally on the rack.
  4. When placing IG units onto a green rack, place the units so the clear or hard-coat low-e is facing the rack, and the soft-coat low-e is facing out.
    1. Only for Hampton (VZ1) units, place the IG unit on the rack with the clear or hard-coat low-e facing out, and the soft-coat low-e facing the rack.
  5. Place bumper pads between each large unit on the rack.
    1. Place pads on the sides and the center.
  6. When you finish a green rack, tie it off and fill out the label tag on the back, with the corresponding batch information (color day and batch number).
  7. If any units on the rack need argon or overfill, write “Argon” on the tag, and push it to one of the argon stations.
  8. Green racks can be staged south of the tempering oven or to the south of IC2.
    1. Any vinyl wrap units will be staged south of the tempering oven.
