Sash Rebar Cutting
Process:
The process for cutting sash rebar.

Studio/Vista Sash Rebar
- On the sash rebar cutout, review batches needing to be cut.
- Label the studio sash rebar cart with the batches.

Begin cutting the rebar in order of the cutout.
- Review available cut off material and utilize as much as possible to minimize scrap.
- Cut the remainder out of full lengths.

Insert cut pieces into slots according to the cutout.
- Quantities of 20 or more can be wrapped and labeled with the batch & size.

Check off each size after it is finished, indicating that it has been completed.
- If a size has not been completed prior to moving on to another task, indicate the completed quantity and the slotting location that should be started at when the work is continued.

Initial each page when completed.
- When an entire page is not completed, initial next to each size that was completed, indicating which parts were cut by a given operator.
- After completion, the team lead is to verify the quantity cut matches the quantity ordered on the cutout.
- The team lead or assigned person is to deliver the material to the punch area.

Follow studio/vista process with the following exceptions.
- Label pigeonhole cart with the batches.

Rebar needs to be punched for both single and double latch sentry lock. This is indicated on the cutout by part numbers 302 and 9826 which will be punched on P-42.
- If cam is noted by the part number on the cutout, it will not be punched. If not noted will receive a single punch. If notation under options is 2L then will receive 2 latches.
- P-42 has a self-centering tool attached to it. For single punch use the self-centering device only. For double punch, place the pin into the fixture as seen in the picture below. Locate the rebar against one stop and punch it. Then with the pin in the same spot, locate the other end of the rebar against the other stop and punch it.
- The Team lead after verifying the cart is complete, will call the forklift driver to deliver the cart to weld.
- On the Patio sash rebar cutout, review the batches needing to be cut.

Label sash rebar cart with color of day, list of the batches and stock patio rebar cut.
- Utilize yellow cart for all patio rebar.
- Identify all the different rebar sizes in the cutout.

Cut and then label all the same size rebar at once.
- The label should be placed a minimum of 8” from the end of the rebar to ensure no liquid from the cutting process prevents good adhesion.
- When the cutout is cut completely, deliver the cart to the punch area.
